Bud is still MADE here...but Shiner is lots better....made in Texas, but owned by Budwiesr I hear...so even Shiner may have a foreign owner...but...but both of them were started by foreigners anyway....
Sam Adams. Brewer/Patriot (printed on every bottle). I really like the Light.
But then I spent 6 years in German and can't drink those wussy light "lagers" most American's call beer anymore.

Those of you in the Midwest would enjoy Bells out of Kalamazoo, MI. It used to be sold here in ILL but Bell gout into a snit with a distributor and pulled the plug on it. Bells Amber Ale.... MMMMMMMMM

There are plenty of locally owned small breweries in Canada and the US to support if you are that patriotic about it. Portland Oregon is a good example. Our local is the Craig Street Brew Pub http://www.craigstreet.ca/?our-beer,12 They're not selling their products outside their walls yet but that'll happen soon I'm sure. I'm partial a good brew from just about any place doesn't matter who owns it.

In Kansas City we have Boulevard Brewing, makers of Pale Ale & Unfiltered Wheat, among others. They will now be the biggest American owned brewer in Missouri!
Personally I like the micro-brews. To name just a few North American Micro Breweries: RedHook Pyramid Thomas Kemper (owned by Pyramid, soon to be owned by a NE brewery) Hales Ales Pike Place Gradnville Island Widmer Full Sail Deschutes and on and on and on. There are over 165 breweries & brew pubs just in the Northwest alone. California and Colorado both also have a huge number... two of my all time favorites are Sierra Nevada and then Red Nectar out of Mendocino, CA.
Having a Sam Adams as I type this... Bjorn, that fridge you remember right now has 14 different brews in it... just waiting for anyone who shows up... Mmmmm mmmm good!
So that's where Land Shark comes from. It started showing up at the local corner store last month.
Tasted a lot like Corona.
A nice part about my move to OK City is that the friend I will be working with and most likely living close to (carpooling) has a Beer Meister. He'll have my favorite on tap soon.
