Since I have no engine at the moment. I am considering turning my attention to the interior of the car. I have a pair of "new" deluxe door panels. They are white. My interior is black.
Anyone painted door panels? What paint? Primer? Prep?

I have "painted" interior parts with vinyl paint before. (correct prep materials, etc.) They look good for a month or so, then start to peel. I would not recommend it.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I have too...the harder vinyl parts will chip and peel quite fast.even with the proper preparation. the only thing I had luck with is the vinyl seat dye on the softer vinyls..
Never installed. They are "new" to me. There are some slight blemishes. I swapped another member for a carb.
Somehow, I think you are not offering any advice for painting...
You found me out.
Are they parchment or pearl? I ask because maybe a trade/ cash offer is possible.
As for the paint/ dye, Classic Industries shows/ recommends a new OER Premium interior vinyl paint that I am going to try. They say it penetrates the surface instead of just sitting on top of the vinyl like normal paint. They said it will not crack fade or peel. Part number for black is PP801 and is $16.95 per can. They also recommend part number PP1009 PREP CLEANER 4 OZ. BOTTLE for $7.95
I will be using it on the panels, door cups, door pulls and door jamb trim. Just ordered it today. Probably do it next weekend.

They're pearl parchment from CI (product F62825). I think one has been painted to try to cover the scuffs. I hadn't looked them over too closely since I haven't gotten to that project yet.

I changed my interior from Green to Black with vinyl dye. It required a good cleansing with degreaser/dewaxer, but it seems to be holding up rather well after several years since doing it. Note, I did all the vinyl components, so everything matches up. Not sure what you're results would be like just doing a partial job.
my kick panels were already re-dyed/re painted from green to black when I got the car..the rest of the interior was replaced with black by prev owner...but once in awhile I have to touch up the kick panels with black spray....maybe I kick them???
I have a set of black originals it has one small nip on the edge on the drivers side. i removed the emblems to change the color but never did. I might trade i will post a picture upon your request.
I used acrylic laquer spray paint to paints some kick panels I got from Bill a few years back. Still holding up great. Paint was the OER stuff from Year One. Red. Bad res picture but it was a while ago. Matched good with original.
