Hi All: Need some guidance. I am redoing my front seats with new seat cushions. Where do I start, The new backs have springs built into the foam.....do i attached the covers to the foam first then to the frame...not sure....the bottoms I assume the same or not....thanks, keith
You may want to have them done professionally. I once attempted to recover buckets and its extremely difficult if you don't have the proper tools and the previous experience of doing interior restoration.
I have never R & I the foam, but I have taken a few covers off, restiched the torn seam, then reinstalled.
It was a peice of cake, but remember, I was reinstalling the same cover, so I don't know how the replacement would go. One thing though, the warmer the temperature the better, and it woulprobally be a dog trying to install them at 50 or 60 degrees.
When I took the covers off, there were hog rings that went through the foam, and they attached to the spring frame.
(Jumped the gun with the post button) Because some of the hog rings go through the foam (and because I R & I the covers with the foam in place) I think that would install the foam, then the covers.
