Silly question, but what holds it in place to the rear. is it some type of pin, or what. pad had small hole to hold it in, but thats it. thanks for any help

It is attached with a pin, which is held in place with the pedal spring. I'll look for my spare pedal to show the spring.

I think i found a picture of that pin. does it just pull right out. it looks like it has a cut in the middle, where it would rest?

To get the pin in and out, you must pull the spring off the pedal to relieve the tension on the pin. The notch in the pin is where the spring rests.

I found my spare pedal, and I happened to pick up the linkage/cable assembly from my friend Pat. That's possibly going to Brett.

Anyway, the pedal and spring are attached by the pin. The pin can be removed, by taking the open ends of the spring from around the linkage. Then the pin pulls out. Remember the orientation of the spring, or you'll have a time of it getting everything back together.
