It's not very often I get a chance to meet people of importance. Today, I pulled into the parking lot at work as I do five times a week. But today there was a crowd all standing around the guard shack, our point of entry/exit from the hub.
Suit & ties and our Local 413 Union officers were greeting the rank and file as they were entering and leaving. I was running just a little behind, and I didn't have any Union business or grips, so I made a bee line for the door. Mark, one of the Local's business agents said; "Hey Tom, I'd like you to meet someone." So I took the minute to greet whoever Mark wanted me ta say hello to. Well I'll be, it was our International Teamster President, James Hoffa.
I chatted with the Prez for a couple of minutes when our Governor Ted Strickland showed up. So I got to make a little small talk with the Gov. Like I said, it's a rare occasion for me to meet anyone in the public eye. So I guess it was my time to shake hands with some folks of stature. So what if I was a few minutes late for work.
I didn't have the heart to tell'em I was voting for Joe Walsh.
great...to add to "known" people...we have another "known" FGF owner... just found him on fgf`s L list a few weeks ago...he has not told anyone who he is, guess he wants to be just a 'normal' person... He was looking for help with his 68 verts tranny ,to get it to a numbers matching...he owns a nice red vert that he got as a rust bucket and has fixed up...I had him in contact with Q and Vikki...they helped him too, ( no idea if they know who he is?) He is Bo Svenson , a Swedish movie star (born Swedish , now American)...he`s been in about 60 movies,tv series, produces and writes etc... the one I most remember him from was "Walking Tall"...
here`s his website...nice guy...I`ve been talking to him a few times now...per email, then he called me on the phone one day...and we spoke Swedish...of course..lol
Yes thats him! very nice guy...when we spoke I found out that Alf Kjellin , the producer (dad of my one of my hs buddies)was also his best friend in Hollywood! even though quite a bit older... I`d post his email, but its in Swedish...lol
That's a mighty fine hat Joey has in that pict. The wife and I plan on seeing the Eagles in November. Can't wait.
I saw the show at Blossom Music Center when he wore that hat. I think that pic was taken there. That was back in the '80's. I also saw Joe at Blossom when he reunited the James Gang last year.
I just shelled out to see Steve Miller. Don't know if I can afford to see the Eagles to. That would round out the ways I've seen Joe.
