What controls the brake light on the dash to stay on?

The only wire that I can think of is connect to the Proportional valve. I have connected and disconnected the wire and the light stays on. Any thoughts?

Emergency/parking brake wire or switch?

HHm. i thought the ER switch under the dash was new. I will check that again. thanks,

It turns out the ER brake assembly bracket where the cable attachs is not touching or engaging the brake light switch. Does anyone have a pix of how it supposes to be setup? thanks Keith

This auction page(link below) should clear things up for you. Keep in mind that if your wire/connection is getting grounded the light will be on. If your spring is weak the light will be on all the time. Unplug the brown wire and your dash light should go out.

Mine is missing the brake clip. NO WONDER!!!! I wondered what that little piece was for. Now i have to see if i can find it.
