Ah well, apart from having a laugh, these guys may have a somewhat "unusual" taste in my personal opinion, it is only fair to say that they do put a lot of time, money and effort in the restauration of a first generation Firebird. We may not like it, in the end the owner, like all of us, loves the line and appaerance of the Firebird, and where we like it as it is, he is experimenting with exaggerating the design. Where all the muscle car re-releases (like the Chargers and all) have that same look as the orirginal, I myself am not a big fan of modern Firebirds, where nothing of the early generation is recognised in. At least they are trying to maintain the design of the old Bird in a "modern looking" car... If that would be attempted by Pontiac in a somewhat more acceptable way, that wouldn't be bad...
Just as a defence for these guys who are clearly putting a lot of effort in this project...
At least a Bird is getting extra special attention. About time people notice how cool they are. I think it'll be an awesome custom, and since it started out as not much, no rare birds were injured in this creation.
They're doing several things I wanted to do to mine in the 70's but didn't have the talent, time or money. Like the flared rear quarters and open louvers. I also wanted to do a reversed hood like a Vette and cut the beak making it part of the grill, kinda like where the Camaro runs across in front of the hood. The cowl thing they're doing I'll hold judgement on until it's finished. That is one long hood now.
Wanting a Custom fit in an off the rack world.
I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
There's nothing you can't find on the internet! Apperently he is some GURU on how to make money on the internet and sells E-books about it.
Found this WEBSITE where it reads: He is an award winning freelance illustrator working in Advertising, Editorial, Entertainment, Publishing, and Corporate markets.
And there is THIS website where he tells how to make money online, and where you can buy his audiofiles & newsletters in which he tells you how to get rich (?)... On ANOTHER and yet ANOTHER website there is an interview with him. He works in: internet-based network marketing and home business consulting.
Here is a review of the E-book he sells about internet marketing on YOUTUBE .
I'm just HOPING they will do the paint-work different from the rendering they made. All that effort, and then that paint-job, that would be really shame. I'm thinking black...

Well if it was a true 455 TA I'd say hell yeah. Just hard not to see the camaro underneath. Make it a sd455 pontiac block. Have to admit it looks better than the camaro. Oh wait put that R.A.V. engine in it then we'll talk....
Upon further inspection of the new T.A.. I have just got off the phone with lingerfelter and I should be expecting my new car about 2 days after never... Told them I couldn't wait that long. So I am planning a road trip to steal OOPS I meant borrow this one til they get mine done.
Now back to the car in this thread.. The chopped up, mangled, jacked up, screwed up whatever it is now... I'd be very upset with the massacre of my car. Some of the things builders do to set themselves appart in the industry is down right horrible. If I was a builder I'd do what the customer wants.. But if the customer is crazy enough to think this is nice then I think the builder might have been able to get more money out of this unrealistic restore... If you read this and that is your car I apologize for your bad taste and my inability to keep my opinion to myself...
i think aside from the exhaust and front valance treatment that car has one hell of a stance!!! not mine but it is nice in its way and definately pro street!! sure thats what they are going for only they have taken it to the extreme in cutting the frame into the car and 4 linking the rear suspension!!
Andy
due to budget cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been disconnected for non payment.
I like opening the louvres, I even like the idea of making the "curves" a bit more extreme, from an experimental point of view, but I think the wheels are way too big, and stance too low for the front wheels. It's way over the top, but with a good paint-job I think it could look pretty cool, although not being to route I would have chosen or my personal taste. And not how I would've spent that...100k..? And the base-Bird was in pretty bad shape, so no harm done.
Anyway, I enjoy following this project. Curious about the final result.
You are right about the finished project. Paint can make it look better. Just from the pics I looked at of the nose it seemed to constrictive around the lights. And that "thing" in the center of the grille? The car looks more like something I seen in "MadMax Beyond Thunder Dome".
True, it does look Mad Maxish... I've been wondering if it is legal to give the nose of your car such a sharp point. Not very pedestrian friendly, to say the least!
