I feel bad for those of you that are getting ready to put the cars away for the season. I'm just getting mine ready for its first show. Actually I'm just displaying it at a concours event that has added a muscle car category. I have a lot of bugs to work out, but it is presentable and who's to know I don't have dash lights, correctly working speedometer or windshield wipers. Here are a couple of pics of the detailed engine. Not quite stock.
Have a great time at the show. I had my '68 in its first show this past August. It was a great day!

Here's one of the exterior. Not that great of shot because it's too shady in my drive. I'll see if I can get a better one at the show. Also a couple of the interior in progress. You can just barely see the stacked gauges.
Steve, I might see you there tomorrow. I just got back from another drive on Daytona Beach. There is a pizza place there from Buffalo (where we used to live) so we go there on Saturdays now and then drive on the beach afterwards! Moving down here was the best move I have ever made after living in 7 states!
Those are original vintage Cal Customs that I've had for more than 25 years. I had some nice Offenhauser covers but discovered the casting on the inside was hitting the pushrod guide plates keeping them from sealing. At this point I didn't want to pull everything back apart to grind down the corners of the guide plates, so they'll stay for now. They're kind of growing on me even though they're a pain to clean and polish.
Here in central Ohio, we are getting an Indian summer. So being put away for winter gets pushed back for now. I just put a coat of wax on my cammer and Blazer yesterday. The convertible gets a bath and wax today. I keep mine out 'till the salt hits the asphalt.

I love those Valve covers!!
I actually just bought a set myself last spring, re pops, from a guy that sells them on EBay...I saw that Trevor was asking about them...sller goes by "cowboy parts" out of California... I might be able to dig out his info. if necessary...
Show was nice. But it spit rain all day. One big downpour and then just enough to be annoying the rest of the day. One nice 70 Judge in Orbit Orange and a bunch of Shelbys. One 77 Nascar Edition Firebire, One 69 396 Camaro and then of course all the Ferraris, Porsches, Jags, etc.
Very nice, looks as good wet as it does dry. The engine detail as very nice. Great work. I have a set of the Cal-Customs on my wife's 66 Mustang (Easier to find them for) But have wanted to find a set for the bird just to change things up at times. Just haven't been able to justify the price, but maybe Bjorn's source will have a reasonable price.
Anyway, I like the direction you have gone with your ride! Just enough stock restoration so to most it looks stock, just enough nostalgia mods to make it look and feel period and have some of your own personality to it, and just enough Hi-Tech to make even the most hard core gear head take notice. All the work done very well! Nice balance!
