Meanwhile college tuition is said to rise at the highest rate ever come Jan 1st.
Ever notice how the liberals attack companies that raise their prices and try to make a profit but never attack the massive increases in the bastion of liberalism of academia?
LOL This is the worst thing I have personally ever witnessed in my 40 years. Oh well, now just sit back and wait for the next shoe to drop. Bottom line is the media got their boy elected!
Im quest glad its OVER. Back to herbacide and seed comericals. Now one question? When and where is my check?
You'll have to give it some time. He needs to take it from me, take his cut and than dole it out to you.
We don't need to take your money Tim. We have 700 billion to fix the country with.... Now if you want to join the cause and donate that would be cool.
What do you mean, join?
My tax bill the past two years was horrific. I cannot imagine what an increase is going to look like under Obama.
You ever been hit by the AMT? No? Than shut the hell up.
My wife and I work very hard for our money and for some a-hole in Washington to take it away and dole it out to someone else is plain wrong and exactly the opposite of what this country was founded on.
And as for the bullshiat bailout plan. I have been and always will be against it.

there`s HOPE! we (after 40 +- years) got over the same situation in Sweden, with our Olof Palme, now ,finally , since 3 yrs ago things are back to "normal"....he was assasinated in 86 ,still took this long to get back to normalcy...
Are people more afraid Obama will be that bad, or that he might be that good? After 8 years of Bush we have a new Prez, for good or bad he's our new President. If you don't like our electorial process move to another country. Then tell us how much better it is there.

I spend a lot of time traveling for business. We Canadians and Americans have things pretty good when compared to many, many places in the world. I'm fortunate that this is one of the advantages of being able to see other countries first hand. I think if we asked our military personnel, they may have similar views about the standard of living in North America compared to other countries they've seen.
No politician in a democratic society has won with 100% of the popular vote. There will always be voters unhappy with the political outcome. But keep things in context, step back, and really have a look at our North American lives.... I would suggest things are pretty good.
one of the black guys in my dept (he voted McCain by the way), says he is really worried about Obama screwing it up...because then that destroys the chances for other blacks to run....this is probably our ONE chance, he said.

Better shut your mouth of that kind of talk Bjorn or the secret service will be on your [censored]. And your buddies Bush and Cheney may soon be up the creek for war crimes.
I'm really proud that I was positive the last time the candidate that I didn't vote for won... There was no beotchfest on the board like this. You guys are a sorry lot....
I’m so tired of hearing that “worse since the Great Depression garbage”. This is not the nation of my parents who grew up during a real depression. I’ve had it with the liberal rhetoric from people who have a difficult time paying for their $4 latte’s, premium cable, and cars with heated seats. They go out and buy big houses beyond their means on poor financial knowledge and then fill it with plasma TVs, microwave ovens, computers, and a variety of high tech gear and then they blame government when they fail.
The economy was growing robustly since the downturn in 2000 and the attacks on 911 until two years ago. Two years ago, voters elected a Democrat US House and US Senate. It is those Democrats who stifled the economy by stifling domestic oil production. It was those Democrats who refused to investigate the looming sub-prime mortgage crisis. It was those Democrats who fully supported the war in Iraq and then spend the next six years undermining it and the Commander in Chief. They are reward for screwing up the nation with a big victory in 2008. 62 million votes should get what they deserve. The other 56 million don’t deserve it. The next four years they will have nobody to blame but themselves but just watch the spin.

I tend to agree with that, better not screw it up. But as bad as things are now, they'd probably have gotten worse before getting better no matter who won. A lot depends on how many stand behind our new prez as it unfolds vs. [censored], moan and complain about every little thing. But sooner or later a woman or minority would win and be the first, time to write a new chapter in American history and politics. I'm just glad it was a big win and not close. This way, which ever way it goes, it can be said a real majority wanted to try it. And by the way, he's not a black president, african american president or minority president. He's our United States President. Until he really screws something up I'll give him the chance he deserves.
My personal opinion of the turnout is Bush tainted the repubs tenure to bad to stand much of a chance this time around, he was disliked that much, then the Palin pick sealed McCains fate.
Wanting a Custom fit in an off the rack world.
I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
I agree Gordon. These republican babies sound just like spoiled little kids that have had their way for far too long. A good 'spanking' is what they needed and what they got. God Bless America!
Agreed. Bush left no positive inertia what so ever, to help McCain. The Repubs were doomed.
My candidate did not win. But, I am proud to know that the U.S. has progressed so far as to be able to elect a Black President. Obviously, it wasn't just the blacks voting for him. As McCain said, the people have sent a clear message. Change. I'm good with that. Clinton didn't kill us. Niether will Obama.
My biggest concern re Obama is his lack of experiance. He's a first term senator...now Commander in Chief, leader of the greatest nation on the planet. I am anxious to see who he surrounds himself with.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise.
I'm a hobbyist. Not a professional. Don't be hatin'!
Has anyone ever heard the term righteous wind used before? I hadn't. Obama has been using it frequently. Looks the the term's origin has been discovered. Many of his new catch phrases have been discovered in the writings of William Ayers and Saul Alinsky but this one alluded people searching.
Obama: I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here, but we’re going to have to work. We’re going to have to struggle. We’re going to have to fight
From the writings of Chairman Mao: The ill wind of opportunism is falling, the righteous wind of socialism is on the rise.
It's really sad that some will not be able to share in the glowing glory of this time in the history of our country. They choose to bask in hatred and defeat. There's a wind a blowin', the wind of change. Do not fear it....
Does anyone know who is responsible for checking the eligibility of the citizen/natural citizen status required for the President of the United States? I have found no function or organization that is responsible for it.
We know he (a.k.a. Barry Soetoro) was adopted in Indonesia and went to school there and no dual citizenship/non-Indonesian is allowed to attend school there. We also know that Obama has hidden his real Birth Certificate from discovery.
Desperate and remote as it might be, perhaps there is still hope our nation can be saved from this socialist Obamanation. It is time to discover who and what he is.
Some people will predict gloom and doom no matter what. Before picking words and phrases apart to predict political armageddon I suggest you look at this quote, "I have see the enemy and it is ourselves"
We created the longest lasting democracy the world has ever seen. I don't see one man taking it down. If that was the case W would have done it. We held together through his tenure, we'll hold together through this one. We are not the sum of one man or one party. Ebbs and flows throughout our country's history have made us what we are. You never know, things might work out good, or does that thought scare you even more.

Wow, it has been very interesting following this thread as an "outsider". Lots of wise words, lots of points made. We have such a different political system here in the netherlands, it has been really interesting to follow this. I don't really have a personal favourite, although it has been covered in the news here full on. I can imagine the things being on the line, the importance of a new president, especially for (small or mediate or large) business owners who have a lot to loose, don't know what is comming, the fear of loosing part of their income, the possibility of new tax-rules, gun control that might even change, all really fundamental parts of American life style. I have traveled a lot, seen a lot of countries, visited the US noumerous times, even did part of my training there. Even though there are many many differences between Europe and the US, we have a lot of things in common as well. Americans have asked me if I was impressed with their freedom, when I was there. Comming from Amsterdam, one of the most free places I've ever been, the freedom was not one of the things that caught my eye. The bigger, faster, stronger, more attitude was; the sky is the limit.
The fact that some stated that the "Obama-voters" would be the first to get fired (if it will come to that) really shocked me, or at least, surprised me.. Not to judge that, as I mentioned, I am an outsider, just reflecting my views on this interesting thread. Here political debate can be fierce and strong, but never have I felt to hide who I voted for, or be ashamed of who I supported, or should anybody fear for loosing his job because of his or hers political ideas. Of course I understand what was meant; if the consequence of his election is people loosing their jobs, then the ones that got him elected should suffer the consequences first. And there is a lot at stake of course, I fully understand. However, if my boss would do that to me, I would feel like being in a country where the one you vote for could have serious repercussions for your personal life, and rather keep it quite, or secret. That is not how it is here, fortunately. Just my 50 cents... Not judging anybody!
I think your next president, who turnt out to be Obama, could have been McCain as well, faces one the hardest challenges any president since Rosevelt faced. One of the biggest financial crisises ever, lots of unhappy people. I wish him, and all of you for that matter, all the best.

Jim , you are reading things into that thats not there! reading between the lines...I do NOT wish for Obama to be assasinated, nor did I want that for Palme....I`ve expressed that many times...I just pointed out what happened to Palme....its not unlikely some nut will try Obama too, its not the first time, JFK got shot, Bobby K got shot ,Reagan got shot (survived) etc... and first of all Bush and Cheney are not my buddies, even though I would be proud if there were....as much as "you guys" have racked upon them unfairly, you better expect some unfair comments on your guy too....
Obama has a huge task , to fulfill his promises, I dont think he can , but if he does...it will take a long time to recover from what the US will look like...its not what I moved to, but rather what I left....I am not moving out from here, we CAN CHANGE it back, and most likely it will, it will just take some time for people to wakeup from this dream.....they will...just takes time..

Just extending to Hussein the respect and support the left gave Bush after the 2000 election. Face it, Jim, we are a deeply divided country. There are the people who want the gimmie, gimmie, gimmie of socialism and want to punish success and there are the people who believe it its the individual who has self-motivation to succeed and governemt needs to get the heck out of the way.
