I bought this car on craigslist about a month ago ,It's a 69 auto coupe w/deluxe drk green interior. originally I think it is called limelight now I'ts blue. car has had a ammeture resto several years back as the quarters have been skinned but it has rust behind them (outer wheelwells)the trunk and floorboards were very solid however the rear floorpans were cut for clearance for subframe connectors.and the trunck floor was cut for sump of a fuelcell.the sides of the cowl/firewall need replaced (I think I'll patch them for now )and I did not get the ac box (guess it was useless weight).I located/acquired: fender and hood ,gastank , rear bumper, headlight surrounds ($70 ea at fabulous firebirds)inner fenders, hood hinges and trunk bird. I still need the ac box and related parts.I just stabbed a 400 in it tonight while radiator support is out and I plan on assembling the front end now so I can see what I need (read bolt hunting /head scratching).I always wanted a 69 ,back in the mid 80s I found a 69 conv w 400 for a mere 650.00 and I couldnt afford it I had a 72 ventura at the time ,a few years later I bought my first bird a 78 formula then another 78 (6 engines later I sold em fixed up 66 barracuda,66 charger .I sold the charger about 6 years ago and bought a 79 formula cloned it to 78 ta painted it added 400 and 4 speed, started sewing the seat covers, started building a .60 over 455 but then got lazy the 455 is still on the stand needing suitable heads and I had forgotten how much I dislike upholstery work ,thats not done either . I am considering putting the 455 in the 69 and just selling the 79 without engine and with old seats because the 69 needs my complete attention to become a driver again .thanks for reading about a few pages of my life in missouri I wondered how I ever had the drive to (restore) a car ,now I remember the 69 reminds me of days long ago when there was no worries just me a car and a few oily wrenches a pair of vise grips and a love of the sound of a tripowered pontiac pulling hard
Welcome. Where in Mo. are you located? I might have a few parts if you need them. I bought a few parts from Larry at Fabulous Firebirds when I restored my car. Pretty decent to deal with. Barry
