Is the wiring for the Kickdown Switch on a 68 400 w/TH400 part of the engine harness assembly? If so, does this include the connection to the transmission?
Does the Kickdown switch get a molded plug? I will be swapping out my engine/transmission this Spring and will be detailing the engine bay. I was planning to replace the wire harnesses but have not seen any new sets that mention the switch. If it's seperate wiring do you have anything available I could use. I see from the wire diagrams it gets a feed from the wiper motor, would the connection to the transmission be shielded?
The kickdown switch gets its power from the black wire with yellow stripe going to the windshield washer pump. The wire on the opposite side of the kickdown switch plugs into the side of the transmission. When the switch is engaged by the throttle linkage it sends 12v to the solenoid in the transmission.
I don't know what the proper connectors look like.
The wire to the tranny solenoid is a long solid black wire that comes out of the engine wiring harness after it passes through the plastic wire gutter over the tranny opening. It has a plastic plug on the end.
