not a car accident!
but had to brag some....


I just shook hands with George Bush (41)......(again)....

went to the office for awhile , then had to go to the cleaners across the street...

I drive into the shopping center...find the cleaners ,which has an open parking spot ,but its blocked by a big black SUV...another one right behind it...
My first thought is to give a little honk, point to the spot,so he can let me in... but since I find another almost right across from it , I decided not to....
as I walk cross the driving lane , thinking of telling the guy how rude he is to block the open spot, I see lots of people strangely placed on the sidewalk, under the centers canopy, looking towards the cleaners...my first thought..."hm , someone has fainted"?
I walk past the car...now I see a man outside the cleaners ,just standing there to my right...I see a few people inside...then another guy to my left behind a column...I didnt realize yet ,but its secret service!
now I`m thinking :"its a hold up".... nah, its too peaceful...
I open the door and step in...another guy just standing there to my right on the inside ....and...an older guy with a cane is at the counter..
the cleaning lady turns to me , says "Oh hi Mr Sefeldt"...
the old guy turns around......its President Bush ......I say: "Hi ,how are you doing"...he stretches his hand out , we shake...
I say :" you may not remember , but we had breakfast together a few years ago....at Kinkaid school, with Pierce and Patrik" .....
he says: "Oh yes" (doubt he remembers, but Pierce ,his grandson was Patriks best friend a few years at school)...so we talk a little..he asks about Patrik, what he`s doing now, so I tell him he just started working for Fulbright and Jaworski...so he says "Oh, he is studying to be a lawyer?" I say , "no, he wants in to politics , maybe to DC, he just worked for congressman Culberson (from Houston) in the re-election capaign"...so he says "Good , they need some good people up there!" and I agreed!

so, he gets his laundry ,tries to carry it out ,of course the little chinese lady does it for him ,and gives him a big hug...(he has used this cleaners for a long time ,as have we)..she says "have a happy New Year, Mr President", he returns her wishes ,then her husband gets his mobil phone camera asks me if I can take a pic of them....so, I oblige, then the President turns to me says: "bye", then I tell him to tell Pierce hi for me when he sees him...
he says "Oh I will, we`ll see him shortly at the game "...guess they are going to the Astros game...

So that was one of my hi-lights of the day!

He actually sounds like a nice guy! Nice experience. Bad thing about having been president, you can never ever again walk around anywhere without A) secret service all around and B) people staring at you / taking pictures. That would drive me crazy!

he IS a nice guy....nah , would drive me crazy too....

I also met the old King of Sweden when in the service...I "guarded" his house...lol...he actually took the time to chat w me for a few minutes...met the current king twice, once as he just got engaged, and once in the mid 80`s

the old king of Sweden would walk the streets in Stockholm w/o guards, just a plain clothes officer to accompany him...

I also drove the Princess Sibylla of Sweden in my cab when I was a cabbie ,waiting to go over to the US

The current king is also known to be getting around ingognito ever once in while. Seems to have two major interests - women and driving fast cars. The newspapers only covers the latter activity...

It's GOOD to be KING!
