I have a front bench seat with a fold down center and was wondering if it was a rare optoin. If not I am planning on giving it to a friend of mine that has a 1971 C10 that we think it would look sweet in. And does anyone know where I can get a seat cover for it?

Yes, it is a fairly rare option. And I believe all the major parts repro places such as Ames sell the covers.
If it's original to the car, I'd leave it.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I have a front bench in my 69 called all the parts places ie. year one classic etc they all said no sale. I called PUI and found a distributor in missouri, price is just over $500 for front and rear delux covers

I wasn't planning on putting it back in since it's not a numbers car or anything but I guess I will keep the seat in the garage anyway. Thanks for your help.

The bench was/is a fairly rare opt. Out of curiosity, is your 'bird an auto or manual trans? If manual, is it a column or floor shift?
Paddock has the deluxe covers for '68-9, the only way you could get a bench. Seat back foam is the same as bucket seats, but the bottom may have to be fabbed.
I bought a '67 standard bench for my cammer since it's a column shift. It's nice to have that arm rest, and extra seat space in case you need to pile the crew in.
You can have the cushions made locally using your old ones as a pattern (leave assembled if possible), or call NPD or Ames and see if they can order some from American Cushion Industries.

Still looking for the elusive bench seat with floor shifter F body. I need to have my bench reupholstered, but that's way down the line. Keep us tuned in on what you find.
It won't be long and I'll have pics of one, I'm putting a 4-sp in my bench seat car just to have something different, I'll save my column shift since it was tilt and cruise but I thought the muncie and bench would make people take a second look

I'd buy it if I had some way to reasonably get it to Mpls.

That's what I have. It's only correct for '67 in it's present form. But with deluxe buns and covers, it would be correct for '68-9. Of course '69 would need head rests.
I will be keeping mine as a standard, but looking into putting head rests on.
Put the bench seat in the floor shift bird tonight, plenty of clearance, 2" with seat full foward and tranny in 4th, I would post the pics but havent figured out how

I decided to go this route, get to keep my bench and have a 4-sp also. I'll lose my tilt wheel and I'll have to get my cruise control hooked up in new column, if I decide to keep that and can find the bellows thats missing

Finally got my seat covers ordered today, no luck with CI or Year One they would not even talk to me about a split bench deluxe cover , I found a little restro parts store in my area that ordered it for me. A little pricey at $500 for front and back but I have been waiting for 20 years to get them for this car
