Well i found a 65 stang coupe for $1800. So Im buying it. Not for me but my mom has always wanted one since she sold hers back in the 70's. Needs a little tlc but otherwise a pretty sound car. Needs some quarter and trunk work but the 6cyl 3 speed is pretty good. Mothers day is coming up so me and my sis are gonna give it to her after i clean it up a little.
my dads gift is a 79 ford 250 ranger... same kinda deal. he says its mine but prctiaclly kills me everytime something happens to/near it!! not to hijack.... mom will love ya for it im sure!!!!

Went to the bank and grabbed the money. Got to the guys house and met with him. Not good. From all outward appearances the thing looked okay. Was kinda hoping this would work out. Opened the trunk to find the floor was gone and a 2x4 being used to hold the frame rails together.Gas tank was a chepo marine gas jug. Move to the interior and lift the carpet to find plywood . Had to walk away. I cant figure out if the guy was trying to be a body man or a carpenter but he faild at both. I guess Ill try to find another one because i like the idea of giving my mom back part of her youth, since i took so much of it from her.
Good luck with your search. I know most classics are subceptable to rust/rot etc. but I have always heard that the older Mustangs were among the worst. Nice idea hope it works out for you...
