OH Boy season is here. Lots of new teams and a few new drivers. Like Joey L. #20 Still a 20 fan this kid can drive. But # 14 gonna do it today. Slow down Tony your to FAST. Gentlemen Start your engines!
We live 30 mins from the track, have four tickets in a box seat and not one of us has any intrest in going. As much as I like cars, speed etc. NASCAR has never appealed to me in any way shape or form.
One of my former contractors from project manager job goes every year. They take 3 massive motor homes into the infield then they buy a handful of box seat tickets for some of their customers. I just honestly have no interest in NASCAR...
Just go for the party . But I know what ya mean...sometimes good just to enjoy the day and kick back...Sunny and about 55 here today.not bad for February....I'M going to take the bird out, top down, melton jacket and bird cap on...WTH.

Anyone catch the truck race Friday Nite? Todd Bodine, should have gotton the BLACK FLAG if anyone should have!! Heck he took out half the field in that one wreck!!! Hellava race though... them trucks are scared to bump and grind (that reminds me, I gotta run!!! :-)
I'd rather see a rust bucket on the road, than a garage queen anytime!!
It's NASCAR, half of those races are fixed. The Daytona 500 has been fixed for years. It is not that tuff to let Jr. win the year after his dad died or even the year his dad won. NASCAR keep the restricter plates and when a car win the plate are never used again. One family owns the whole thing and they make sure what is best for them happens or a least is given every chance to happen. Yellow flags in NASCAR are a joke.
I like watching it to see who they are helping out. It always seem that when someone loses a sponser their car does very well in qualifing the next week. Thing that make me go hmmmmmm
You dont really believe it's fixed like pro wrestling do you?
A kid that grew up around the corner from me, and worked in our service dept a couple years, now crew's for Jeff Burton's Busch team. And met and know a few other crew members from Cup by first name. Besides a flat rate, they get paid incentive's on how well thier driver finishes per race.
It is so easy for NASCAR to manipulate restricter plate races and they do. It is not as bad as wrestling but when you have one family that controls everything and you keep on having feel good story happening it becomes apparent to alot of people about what is going on.
I wonder if there was a reason Jeff Gordon won the first race at the Brickyard 400. Maybe because he grow up there and it would bring in more fans and hurt the IRL. Hmmmm
One thing that NASCAR has wanted for years is for Mark Martin to win the Daytona 500. So I guess it is just luck that a part time driver has set on the front row this year and was the quickest car last year. We all know that when you turn 50 you become quicker.
I get where your coming from. Back when Dale senior was driving the Goodwrench car, he was dominate. Had alot of GM backing. Then Gordon came along and started winning more races then Dale. Hendrick M.S. was just starting out. They didnt know if they could make it thru the season do to $ and lack of sponcers.
Same with Roush Racing and...forgot which Dodge team has alot of factory backing.
Did you know that Hendricks and Roush supply alot of engines to other teams that sometimes beat them?
Tony Stewart has his own co-owned company now. He won the Busch race driving for Hendrick, in a Hendrick car.
What I don't like about Nascar now is all the freaking cars are the same back in the day the cars were the bodies of the car you could buy at the dealers they had to produce at least 500 to be able to race it. can I buy a V8 taurus or a camery do the come with the spoilers and splitters deacals for lights. all the cars look the same now I have to see the decal for the brand to know what it is suppose to be.

That is exactly what I think too. SCCA racing is about as close as you can get today.
