Does anybody what the purpose of the notch in the bottom of the internal housing on a 67 would be. It is sort of a dovetail shaped cutout in the plate that goes up against the timing cover. The new replacements don't have this and it doesn't even show it in the 67 service manual. It must serve some purpose but don't know what. Also has anybody heard of modifing the upper radiator hose so it is lower than the radiator cap. Mine looks to be higher. Thanks
