I have an auto console from a 69 that I believe is original. Can this be converted to a manual? Second question are what the holes are in the picture? I have been trying to find a picture of a console that has those holes.
I know the manual console has a shift opening centered more towards the driver side. The oval hole in your console is for the console clock, not sure if the smaller hole is covered by the clock or not since I have yet to install mine.
Thanks, when I bought this progect there were like 20 boxes of stuff and I have not unpacked it all but I had the console laying on my bench and noticed the holes and wondered. Hopefully the clock will be in the boxes. On the changeover to manual, do you know if there is an aftermarket top plate? I saw what I belived was the bucket aftermarket or am I more likely going to have to search for someone with a busted up console with a good top plate?
Just keep checking Ebay, I have seen a few 4speed consoles for sale in the last couple months. You may have to buy a complete unit. I have an auto console and had to buy 2 units to get all the sections in the right condition. It's difficult to get sections to color match perfect since they fade over time.
I have four or five auto and a four speed console that are no longer needed now that my projects are pretty well sorted out. They will be listed soon, here then eBay.
