My mechanic is telling me my XB code rear end in my 68 bird is a c-clip, all other info that I find leads to non c-clip. Any info would be appreciated Thanks.........
If it your original Firebird rear end it should be a non c-clip. If you want to look, take off a drum and see if it has a cover holding in the axel bearing. That's what holds the axel in place on a non c-clip rear end. I think your mechanic has been working on too many Chevies! Jim
You could also go to the richmond gear website and look at pictures of differenct rear ends to verify yours indeed is an 8.2 Pontiac and not a Chevy of some sort. Sounds like you already have it figured out though.
