I have another issue w/my bird that I wanted to start a new topic for. I got in car the other day and interior lights came on like normal and went off when I shut the doors. When I started the car the interior lights came on again? I turned car off and they stayed on? I disconnected battery and tried it all over again. The interior lights did not come on when car was started the second time??

I put in all new door jamb switches so I have no idea what could be the problem.

Did u perhaps nudge the headlight switch? When they get old they can get a bit finicky as most have the rheostat so close to the "on" position for the bright dash lites...?

I had a similar problem. I changed all of the fuses in the fuse block and the problem went away. Just a suggestion...

Door jamb switches grounding out, did you make sure the wiring is clear of the jamb and not shorting together?

Definately in the jamb switches, been down this road before with two different "f" bodies and both turned out to be the jamb switches...

Switches or accidently turnt the light switch for the dash dim, as suggested above.

The courtesy light sockets have to be fully seated in their brackets. If they come loose from the bracket, the dome and courtesy lights stay on.
