Both Vikki and 68400 have good points. My 68 had a 350 2 barrel with a 2.78 rear end originaly and the 3 row worked fine for many years. Once I put the 455 in everything changed and I needed a bigger radiator. So if you think you might go to a bigger or modified engine / rear end in the future, then your best bet is to put a 4 row in now and you won't have to spend more money to change it later.
Can tell you from personal experiance as well, the 3 row that worked great in the 350 is having issues with the new 428. I'm probably going to go aluminum.
