Does anyone sell the CORRECT anchor plates for a '68? It appears that the Big 5 all sell the same plate which is 2" too long. Yeah, I know, I could cut 'em down, but these joints also sell the same bracket for both sides. Yeah, I know, either bracket will work on either side. But the stock brackets are distinctly different - holes drilled in opposite sides.
The previous owner of my car added a leaf and then torqued them down to about seven hundred foot-pounds. They're as radiused as the U-bolts!

I am not sure about buying new ''correct'' plates but why buy new when there are plenty of good used ones around that havent been air gunned to death. I am pretty sure I have a set kicking around in the garage somewhere if you want them 10 bucks plus shipping chrisquicker@aol.com. Or just find a set locally and save yourself the shipping.

Chris,
I've got just one guy left locally to try. Man, I thought it would be easy to find originals, but the few that I've found have cracks. "Well, you can just weld 'em up boy!" Yeah, right.
I'll check with this last guy tomorrow - if I strike out I'll take you up on yours. Thanks!
