1) you have to trade it in...2) theres a list of cars ,how they "qualify"... 3) but I bet if you are ready to buy a new car and can find someone who has one of those 'klunkers' on the list..from a guy selling , not trading...you might be able to pay $3500 for it ,then trade it in for $4500, making a $1000 ?
personally I dont own a "Klunker", I do own a gas guzzler (69 Firebird) , but its no Klunker
but you know that this program was thought up by the govt , so you KNOW theres something wrong with it...whatever the results are , its not going to be good...LOL
the people who brought you the succesful program social security and the post office, now wants to take care of your health insurance...lord save us...
SEMA always does pretty well. They keep showing that the number of miles driven is so small that the hobbyists are not contributing to much of anything.
Except maybe busted knuckles and smiles.

Challenger. Think about what you could get it for if you combined:
1) Existing Employee Pricing Plus-Plus 2) Pick a closing dealer. Has to sell all cars by early June. 3) New car tax incentive 4) State tax rebate 5) Gas guzzler rebate

talk about closing dealers....how in the h*** , do they think that closing dealers (privately owned) is going to save the car manufacturers any money?? they will lose...afterall all these dealers are SELLING their products...make it more cumbersome (less dealers), less will be sold....arent they in the busuinnes to manufacture and SELL cars?

It happened here. The Chrysler dealer in Bismarck was one of the dealerships to be closed. The dealer sold Toyotas too. He figured it was a matter of time he would get notice from Chrysler.

My next door neighbor is sales manager of one of the Dodge dealers slated to close. We bought our last 5 cars from him. I will be shopping for one last deal.
I have a rental this week, and had a choice of a Toyota or a Dodge Charger. I took the Charger. Despite blind spots big enough to hide the average car, it's a GREAT road car, cruises along at 100 like nothing and still gets mid 20s at speed.

We survived so far(Pontiac GMC). Know of 1 Chevy and 1 Dodge near us(for sure) didnt make it. Rumor's are fly'n about some other GM dealers, but thier deni'n it.
at least one chrtysler and a few gm dealers closing. pontiac is slated to go out of business from what i've read/ been told so how long those dealers will be open is the next question. gm dealers make up half this towns sales. only about 2 toyota dealers here in town. not many foriegn dealers her to speak of really.
