I have a 68 Firebird Conv. the shakers are still in the rear of the car. Do they also go in the front of the car? If so, do I need to re-install them? What is the reason for them?

Yes they were installed in the front and rear corners of convertible F bodies to dampen vibration. Some say they don't notice the difference, others do.

at 25 Lbs ea ,many took them out to lighten the car...many cars have no adverse effect w/o them ,but some do...that was the reason they installed them in the first place...to reduce vibration in convertibles
