If I recall I just used weatherstrip contact adhesive, clamped it tight till set and I believe there were a few screws as well.....all's well so far after 1 +year
I've used a lot of contact cement (which is what the weatherstrip adhesive is) over the years and didn't think it was strong enough for this application. I saw some "Liquid Nails Polyureathane" at the hardware store that looked like it might have possibilities. Anyone use anything else?

I used black windshield urethane from 3M. You can get the 4 hr or the regular which sets up in 8 hrs. Make sure you have a lot of visegrips and clamps.
