I have the same dilemma. I am looking for gold.

I finally settled on aftermarket (non-OEM looking to say the least) but should give some protection to my new carpet.

I have seen some NOS ones on epay, but never in green (or gold)

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

My Pontiac friend down here dyes everything with vinyl dye. I can not beleive how good it comes out. For example, the 65 Tempest he is doing did not have carpet, it originally came with rubber mats that cover the entire floor (I have never seen this before now). Anyway, he and his painter cleaned them, repaired them and sprayed them with an automotive dye and they came out looking brand new. Now granted he went from a gold color to black however, he has shown me other items that they have sprayed on some of his other cars and it looks just as good. I saw some door panels that were sprayed from orginal black to an Ivy Gold and they look perfect.

These two guys swear they can spray any vinyl part from one color to another and have it come out perfectly and I beleive them based on what I have seen. These two guys are amazing. Now that the 65 Tempest is almost complete (I helped him swap the cam that wiped out this past week) they have already begun the resto on the 61 Safari Catalina wagon. I'll post pics of this car as well. They will be spray dying the interior in this car as well as it is currently a light blue interior and he has not decided what color it is going to be when completed...

Sorry I did not mean to go off topic, I was just stating that maybe the black ones could be dyed the correct green color...

Try The Paddock...

As far as I understand their online catalog they provide correct rubber floor mats in other colors than blue, red and black, too, for some additional fee....

Hope this link works:

http://www.paddockparts.com/Paddock/assets/html/FirebirdAccessories.pdf

It´s on page 38, showing a black rubber floor mat they note: special color available -- color $12.95 more.
But I´m not sure WHAT floor mats were meant -- they list them for a period from 1967-92...

BTW - just at the moment there´s a set of NOS olive green vinyl floor mats (only front) at ebay -- BIN-price USD 140.00. Don´t know if olive green would help, too...

Item number: 250414234607

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-68-69-...p4506.m20.l1116

Not accurate but will come close: same seller is offering a complete set of NOS tan front and rear floor mats for 1970-1975 Pontiac Firebird; BIN-price USD 225.00

Item number: 250348309407

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/70-71-72-...sQ5fAccessories

... and finally a complete set of NOS dark jade green floor mats for 1970-1975 Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am. More expensive -- BIN-price USD 275.00

Item number: 250403498019

Just take a look and keep this ebay seller in your favorites. Could very well be he´s some other vinyl mats available soon...
