Blew the head gaskets last night and want to have the shop fixing paint to match factory. What color/paint do I use? what about for the rest of the engine color/paint for a 69 350 4bb
...and why didn't my temp light go on before overheating? This is the second time! The bulb works.
So, headers I can only find an aluminum color high temp spray. Thinking of doing the intake with same. Not easy to find the paint in 2 days when the city of Chicago does not sell spray paint.
Sorry, I couldn't help it. Many auto parts stores carry Cardone, they make a NEW cast impeller 11 bolt water pump that looks and fits like original, as cheap as a cast impeller rebuilt. Call around and ask if they carry Cardone, if they do then ask for this style pump.
You can order Bill Hirsch Pontiac Metallic Blue engine enamel and probably have it in time.

Also sounds like it may be the cause of the head gasket problem. If coolant was leaking out over time and there may have not been enough at the temp sender to trigger the light. Don't forget thermostat replacement as well. Cheap insurance.
Thanks...places only ship ground via spray paint...I think I will just match it with the header paint until I repaint the entire engine block...it will at least match the headers and have a nice look I hope.
Have you considered having you headers ceramic coated? It will last forever, prevent rust and reduce the heat of the headers.
It should not be too hard to find a place near Chicago that will do it.
