Hello all.. I have a little problem with my convertible rear window . The rear window are two pieces of glass that are held by some type of strong thick clear sealer/bead. I made the mistake of placing my cell phone on the rear window and lowering my top down. Well the bead/seam that holds the two windows together spilt in half and now I need to reseal it again. I was told that they use a special type of clear weather strip for this. It has to bend and take the pressure when the window is folded down. Does anyone have any connections with convertible window shops that can tell me what type of sealer to use for this repair. I don't think the reagular 3M clear sealer will work for this type of job. Any advise. Thank You

You'll have to replace the folding seam seal. Contact any automotive shop that does convertible top R&R (repair & replace).
I had a glass back window for my '68 GTO convertible, but that was one piece. I won't put a glass window in my convertible because of the necessary two piece window. I want to find the top that allows the plastic widow to be zipped out.
This one has a zip out window, but it's two pieces of glass held together by some type of heavy duty rubber seam. It kinda looks like the 3M clear sealer , but i think it's much stronger and flexible.

It has to be some sort of formed hinge, I don't think you would be able to duplicate it, at least with any success. Call a top shop and ask them about it. It may only come with a new window. post some pics if you can.
