Does anyone know where I can get a set of shackles that are about an inch and a half longer than stock? I have a set of 50s in the rear and when I hit a bump they rub on the edge of the wheel well.
sounds like what i've got going. here is a photo, it is the old skool look. also driven mostly by lack of time and money to minitub but it still looks cool i think.
how about air shocks ? that is what was on mine when i bought it.
Or both. Then the only thing missing would be the orange shag carpeting.

if you do go with the new shackles, I would be interested in your old ones if they are halfway decent (I pitched mine 15years ago thinkin I would put in a 4-link and the whole nine yards, now I just want to get back on the road !) how much do you want for them if available ?
Any updates here ? I hope you weren't offended by our comments, actually I'm doing the same and it looks really great in my opinion plus it doesn't cut up the factory configuration.
How many people here have air shocks on their rides? Mine leak badly, I need to fill them up twice a day, or if I hit any kind of bump the tires rub, especially the passenger side. It's to the point where I'm going to need a new tire soon because of the rubbing. Does anyone else have problems with leaking air shocks? The only person I've talked to about them said that they got new ones but they leaked almost right away...is there such a thing as an air shock that doesn't leak? I don't know all that much about suspension honestly. I assume I need the air shocks because I have larger tires (taller, not wider) in the rear...I think they're 15". I'm going to try to find the source of the leak this weekend, but didn't know if I'd be wasting my time if I decided to put in new air shocks if they're just going to leak right away anyway.
Air shocks don't have to leak. And it's usually the hoses that leak, not the shocks. Find a set with Schraeder valves in the shock body, and don't install hoses. Those rarely leak until the rubber boot rots out.
Or choose wheels with the correct offset and tires of the correct height (yes, 15" can fit) and fix the issue.

I need help with the steering column, which is why there are column pics. I need to learn how to reassemble the components and which parts go where and in what orientation.
Thanks for the redirect Vicki. Now I see that I bought the car missing several steering wheel parts. Maybe I'll see what santa brings me for Christmas and just wire the horn up temporarily to pass inspection..

So , before I say goodnight. Can you tell me if the lock plate in the touching the cancelling cam is on/oriented correctly?
I looked and don't see the parts suggested. Anyone got a link? I'd really like to put this to bed. Otherwise-- Anyone run a machine shop and want to make a few bucks making them?
the set you refer to is offer!! they actually make a set on ebay. gives you the option of raising/lowering by upto 4" really sick look fully extended. kinda retarded even. but it doesnt look 1/2 bad lowered 1/2"
