ok guys i have been away for a while at the beach but im back now!! and ever since i installed my new gas tank i cant seem to get the fule pumped to the carb. now the fuel pump is working but i am not sure if it is working 100%. B/c about 2 months ago i took 5ft of fule line and ran it into a 3 gallon gas tank and the gas pumped straight to the carb. and the other day i did the same thing with about 3 inches deep of gas in a 3 gallon tank. I got no fuel pumped to the carb. what could be my problem?
do i need more gas in the tank b/c the fule pump isnt strong enough?
im only 15 but doing all the work on my bird, cant wait to get her on the road!
Quick thoughts... -no gas in the gas tank -air from tank not allowed to escape (vent/vacuum situation) -kink in the fuel line -blockage in fuel line -clogged fuel filter -bad fuel pump, or fuel pump installed wrong
Have you disconnected the fuel line before the carb, cranked it and checked for fuel?
there is half a tank in the tank -air from tank not escaping could be it. how would i fix that? -no kinks -just cleaned filter - and yes i have, i also have a glass filter so i can see it

Just verifying...youve disconnected the fuel line at the carb, you can crank the engine, and see fuel coming out (like into a glass jar, etc.)? If so, then Id say the issue is carb related unless your fuel pump is only kicking a trickle of fuel.
no i have not gotten fuel to the carb yet. i cant even get it to the fule pump. all my lines are dry, b/c its a brand new gas tank with half a tank of gas in it

It takes a little bit of cranking to get fuel up the lines. After a few crank 5 sec, wait 30 sec cycles you should get fuel at the carb. If not, I am guessing though that you may have a kinked line at the sending unit or junk in the lines.

i have cranked it for 1min befor and got nothing. now i did bend the tube by hand to get it in there but i tested it and gas could pass through it still. that couldnt be a pproblem could it?

Get a hand vacuum pump from the auto parts store and try to pull fuel up through the lines to the fuel pump.
If it does not work you have a problem with the sending unit or lines.
