I would not wax or polish the car until the solvents in the paint dissipate and cure. (usually 3 months to a year) Mild soap and lukewarm water is only needed.
If you polish and wax a freshly painted car, you may cause clearcoat and/or base coat delamination.
If IR lamps were used to partially cure, the time can be reduced. Either way, I would not polish/wax for at least a year in this climate.

WE RECOMMEND NOT WAXING OR POLISHING FRESHLY PAINTED VEHICLES FOR AT LEAST 90 DAYS OR WE WILL VOID OUR PAINT WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE. IF YOU DO YOU WILL SEAL THE PAINT (WHICH AT THIS STAGE STILL NEED TO BREATH FOR SOLVENT EVAPORATION) IF YOU DO SEAL THE PAINT IT COULD BUBBLE / LIFT OFF AND CAUSE BIG PROBLEMS. THE PAINT SHOULD NOT FADE ON THE BASECOAT SYSTEM UNLIKE THE SINGLE STAGE PAINTS USED BEFORE. HOPE THIS HELPS OUT. WE ALSO BAKE OUR PAINT JOBS AS MOST SHOPS DUE.
