how are radiators in 69 birds fastened on the driver side? Passenger side has nuts in the core support panel, but the driver side just has a holes (and the bottom hole is recessed into a reinforcement which you cant get to the other side?
With my old core support the prior owner just used nut/bolt for both top and bottom and they cut away the bottom outer support as to get to the other side to put the nut on????
On the topic of radiators. How do you tell how many core radiator your car has. My car had a 326 with 2 speed auto tranny and no AC.But now has a 400 with a 400 tranny. Also lower gears in the rear. My car runs hot and I was wondering if part of it could be to small of a radiator. Already installed 7 blade clutch fan, thermostat, tranny cooler, flushed out fluids. Radiator was rebuilt some time ago but the car was parked for a long time after that. The only thing I have not done yet is check the diverter plate in the water pump for clearance and install a better radiator.
You probably have a 3 row core. If you take the cap off you can look to see(depending on how clear your coolant is)how many rows you have. You may want to get a 4 row or an aluminum one. Depends on how original looking you want it.
