Are these heads worth buying for $150 for a 455 build or would I be better off waiting for a set of 6X-4 to come around? What is a reasonable cost for milling them down a few cc from 101 to around say 95cc, again worth the milling cost or wait for 6X-4's? Any of you local Canadian guys had any of this type of work done lately? Cost? I am somewhat aware of the intake match issue for too much milling.
If you want to use the 6X heads, go for it as the difference is only .2 points of compression. Dont bother milling them as .2 wont show one bit!!! I like using dished pistons and the 16,62,etc heads if you want a pump gas 455 that can haul azz.
Have them cc'd before putting them on. I had a pair on my 400 that were actually 105's..... I would be patient as 6x-8's can be had for almost nothing....
