I'm curious as to what tire pressure people are running in their 67 Firebirds. The specs from 67 call for pretty low pressure but I assume with today's radials that is not accurate anymore. Thanks, Rob
My radials have a max PSI of 44..I usually ran 35.
My T/A had a lower profile tire and a max PSI of 44 as well, but I ran 31-32 PSI as any higher made for a harsh ride.
Your suspension will have an effect on your preferred PSI. Too much you will get diminished contact patch, poor handling and higher hot pressures, too little same thing and squishy cornering. Having the toe and caster set for your driving style will help as well.
If running 50-60 series tires, I say 34-36 PSI. Always check when cold and check every day for first week to get a baseline for leaks. This is going to be trial and error based on your feel for the car. Buy a good digital pressure gauge.

I usually run 35 in both the 69 Firebird and my 2000 Volvo....its a good average number...town is good with 32-33, to get nice soft ride, but highway usually requires a little higher psi, tires tend to flatten out with higher speeds...If I know I will drive ONLY highway for a while, lets say a tripp from Houston to Toronto and back, I`d put 37 in...
I recall working in my dad's auto repair shop as a kid(1970's). Before every front end alignment, I was to be sure there were 30 lbs in front, 28 in the rear.
