Here are better pictures of my car inside and out. I would just like some input on the car. I don't know much about 68's and I am trying to learn. It is supposed to be a base Firebird. I don't know how it got the rock guards since I have been told the base ones didn't have them. I am the 5th owner. What looks out of place. I purchased it back in April (for $2,200) and just finally got a clear title for it. Sorry for posting a very dirty bird, but it is in storage at my in-laws. The second owner would not give me the window sticker, but he emailed me a photocopy of it. IMG]http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w294/jasonleever/IMG_0764-1.jpg[/IMG]

Dash/radio surround seems to be '67, not '68. Can't tell which ash tray finish it has.
Nash just let his door panels go. You could have used those.
Looks like one heckuva project.
Body doesn't look too terrible. But paint can cover a lot. What does the undeside look like?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. It looks like the wood grained piece that is lying on the floor near the glove box is from '67.
'67 had a horizontal (lined) woodgrain finish. '68 had a burlwood finish. (kind of like a knotty wood grain)
The face of the ash tray would match. Both shown in your pictures seem to be '67.
Not a big deal, you had just asked for what looks out of place.

Thank you guys so much! I knew the gauges were possibly not right, because the odometer reading on the title didn't match the one in the car. There were miles on the title. I wasn't sure about the wood grain.

Oh I am a little interested in why you say they are camaro fenders? They are going to be gone in a month anyway because they are rotten and found a whole front clip for a 67 down for $600.00. I am going to change out the fenders and hood. I have the rest of the 68 stuff.

The Camaro fender has a rectangular cutout for side marker lights. Firebird does not.
It's been in a garage or barn on concrete for a long time, hasn't it? Structural rust does not look bad in the photos, but there's not much structure showing.

I got it from New Mexico. The original owner was in Ohio. He sold it to the second owner who wrecked it a couple of times and then took out the original engine (which he then put in his own 67) and sold it to the Third and the fourth owner. It has been sitting outside since after 93' but in New Mexico it really doesn't matter. The floor pans are rust free and solid. There is a lot of surface rust, but no cancer.
