Hi, I am faced with changing the cable in my 69 FB going from the floor shift to the TH400. Mine just keeps binding up (under the car) because of a stupid POS little tube on the existing cable that slides around causing a kink. Now, I just happen to have another cable (new)and it is 31.5" in length. I seem to recall some guys complaining about some cables being sold that are simply too long to install. My question to the forum is can anyone tell me what the correct length should be for this cable? Is mine OK or is it too long? I am not about to tear everyting apart this weekend just to find out I have a cable that won't work. Thanks

Thanks man. I looked back through my receipts and located what I think is the right source for this, Ames. The one I have on the workbench was from Classic and at 31" is wrong.
