Looking for some help on installing an ohc 6 into my 67sprint firebird. I have a sprint engine for it but I am choosing to install the 1 barrel ohc 6 for my sons first go at this car. Mainly because I want to be able to run regular unleaded and not premium all the time. Also figure it will be more economical too. Our firebird was originally a sprint 6 with 2spd column shift automatic. I have no transmission stuff at all yet. I want to put this car back together correctly (other than having the sprint 6) and am in the process of rounding up the parts. I found a 2spd trans from a sprint 6 Lemans? and assume this would be a somewhat correct trans for my car? Is there a difference between the 2spd auto that came with the ohc and sprint 6? The trans comes with the linkage for a column shift in a lemans and I assume this is completely different than the linkage for the firebird? Would the flexplate be the same for a ohc 6 and a sprint 6? Would the torque converter be the same for a ohc 6, sprint 6, and 326 cu. in. auto? I just don't want to waste my time rounding up incompatible parts for this project. Any help is greatly appreciated! Jeff
