Any suggestions on who makes a great high temp starter? Mine will not turn over after running a while then sitting for a bit. I can jump the solinoid from underneath to get it going... Thanks

Get a high torque mini-starter. I got mine from Ames.

Make sure you have good cables and good connections all the way around first, especially the grounds. I use 1 gauge pos and neg battery cables with a stock HD starter and headers and haven't had a problem since, been over 10 years now.
My brother used the big cable on his car and the mini starter and it made a big difference. That is what I'm going to do. I will most likely use the RobbMc
It's when the car it hotttt and you turn the key and nothing, I can jump it with a screw driver on the solinoid. When the car cools down works normal. Is the solinoid cooking?

I've been running a $29 life time warranty starter from AutoZone for almost 3 years now and have not had a single issue. Your problem may lie somewhere else, such as grounding and or positive cable etc...
No I know the grounding is good the cable is good run it on a warm day for any length of time and on a warm day and nothing. I get about a year on the starter. I have to find heat sheild from an F4. Thats what my dad used 0n my sisters bird years ago and she never had any problems after that. Any one live near the bone yard in Tuscon? Bill Spear can you jump the fence and get me some? Iknow your out that way... We'll get Bjorn to distract them......

I took the plung with a RobbMc starter. Never had to change the stock size cables. The hot start issue is gone now. I even got the solinoid with both the S and R terminals. It was not the cheap option but I'm very happy that I can remove the starter with out having to remove the LBM.
