I just replaced the upper & lower seals on my powersteering gearbox, but now there is too much play in the wheel. The best part was running around trying to find the seal kit, someone put in a box from a 1992 fbody. This box just about touches the header on the lt side. My questions are: -anybody know how to get the play out of the gearbox? -anybody have headers & a stock gearbox(manual or power), is there clearance between the gearbox & the header?
I'm no expet but I think the gear box should have a nut with a screw in the middle. Should be able to loosen the nut and tighten up the scree a little. It might take some of the play out.

I'm not sure about a power steering box but my 69 with a manual box had a lot of slop in the wheel. I did As rohrt says -- loosened the nut and adjusted the screw. Tightened up nicely!
