I found my stuff at the junk yard from a 69 Grand Prix. All I will end up using are the spindles as I just bought all the rest of the stuff from NPD just yesterday. I bought all new bearings, calipers, brake lines, pads etc. No matter what you do, it's not an inexpensive upgrade bt the time you round everything up. If I had not already had the spindles I would have bought the 4-wheel disc set up someone on this site has for sale and been done with it!
Didn't know you were looking for 4 wheel disc set-up. Give them a call, I'm sure they can help you over the phone get the correct kit. Keep in mind if you have 14' wheels that were not for discs originally, then you will have to grind about 1/8 inch of the top of the front caliper brackets. I did mine, no big deal.
I got the kit with disc all around with the e-brake for the rears and power also.
There were two major problems with the installation; the rear axle had to be ground down to fit the rotor (I had the 1-100,000 to have the larger one). The other was I had to go to 15x7 inch rims.
well the story is tuy guy on the board is willing to trade me my 14 x 7 rallys with new tires + cash for his set up...
and i already have a set of 15 x 7's
i just want to make sure it's the right kit..
i'll proably set my firebird up trailer park style with 15x7 on the front with 15x10's on the back with "N50's"
i already have the crome plated traction bars and hippiefoot gas pedal and airshocks so im halfway there.
i want to be able to stop...last time i had a setup like this was in my 67 camaro and it had drums i was doing 70mph on the highway and had to emergeny stop and nearly pooped my pants when i hit the brakes and they just mushed to the floor..
I guess I've been lucky with my four wheel drum set up. I have never had ANY issues stoping or fading etc. The only reason I am even installing them is simply due to the fact that I was given the spindles and rotors. I redid the four wheel drums 5 years ago and replaced EVERY spring, clip, bracket wheel cylinders etc. and they have been no problem since...
The front kit includes: Spindles, FULL 11" rotors, bearings, seals, caliper brackets, FULL SIZE calipers, pads, hoses, banjo bolts, hardware and dust caps. (Watch out for kits with small rotors and metric calipers, they were not designed for your car and will get VERY hot and fade under hard braking)
Thats EVERYTHING you need at the front wheels for a complete install
The rear kits include: Calipers with Emergency/park brake, 11" rotors, Ebrake cables, flex hoses, banjo bolts, washers, caliper brackets and pads with ALL hardware and brackets. Thsi kit will work with Most GM 10 and 12 bolt rear ends! This kit is 100% bolt on!
It also features a beautiful BRAND NEW show quality cadnium color 11" Booster (7, 8, 9 booster optional at no extra cost), BRAND NEW master cyl. (dual ported) and porportioning valve. The porportioning valve is an AC delco (GM) preset for YOUR car so there is no need to worry about playing around with an adjustable one and never getting it right!
Nice kit. Sure saves alot of running around trying to find everything and then you can end up with mismatched parts. There's some that use cadillac parts, some that go the S10 route but if you've got the dough this looks like the way to go.
