I bought a rear fender lower patch panel from Classic for mine 8 yrs ago...fit fine, cant tell it was fitted in...(of course I had a real body man do it, not myself! lol)
Wondering if anyone here has had any experience with using fender patch panels for their Firebirds? I see Ames sells them as well as NPD.
thanks for the help
In the past two weeks I have purchased a right door skin, left/right 3/4 quarter panels, left/right front fenders, left/right rear outer wheelhouse panels.
Each panel is OK but every panel will need to be massaged to make it fit. I can say this that the Left/Right quarter panels show some slight die or tooling imprints that are indicative of a 69 Camaro skin which will have to be addressed with a little hammer time to clean them up. Otherwise they are OK, certainly better than what I started with.
If you are looking at rear quarter patch panels for around the wheel wells take the time to really explore the wheel well lip to see if the metal is good. It might pay in the long run to get the outer wheelhouse skins for donor parts rather than try to salvage bad metal Mine cost 69 bucks each which is affordable. just my 2cents.
