I had a friend build up a fairly stout 400 (not the # match block, which is in storage), but now I have cooling issues. I saw someone post they had a 4 row radiator in their '69, but I can't find any reliable info on whether a 4 row was a factory option in '69. I'm sure my old 3 row is pretty clogged up & perhaps a new 3 row would be adequate...but I'd be interested to know if anyone has a 4 row & if it's a direct replacement, i.e. no butchering the mounts etc.

My car (69) has a four core in it. It was built with a 350 and A/C.

you may also have a flow problem...I suggest reading this complete thread....it contains lots of info on the water pump impeller spacing.

my first question as usual, if you have a 400, do you have all the fillers?
like the X fillers at top of radiator, the side rubberrized ( masticated) fillers at ea side of bottom of radiator, and the lower metal baffle?
If you have those , only then can you start looking for 'over heating issues'
