I need some feedback on how difficult it is to replace the interior. It doesn't look like it would be that hard to do the work myself , with the exception of the seats, but I have been fooled before. Please let me know if this is something I should undertake on my own without any experience. Thanks!
Go for it. The only way you're going to get the experience is to try it yourself. Interiors are not difficult to redo on your own and there is almost nothing you can do wrong that can't be redone.
Reskinning seats is easier than it looks, but if you don't have the right tools you might conider pulling them out and having a professional do them. You can do all of the rust stripping and painting prior to handing them over.
Take your time. Take some pictures. Mark ziploc bags with the correct hardware. Piece of cake.
I am in the process of replacing all the interior on my '69 convertible. I purchased all new PUI door panels, seat covers and rear arm rest covers. If you are not comfortable, do like I do - take one seat apart and keep the other together as a guide. Just take your time and you will do fine. I do recommend having the correct tools to remove the door trim and hog ring pliers and hog rings to do the seats.
It has what is left of the Deluxe door panels. I noticed that the window cranks need to be arched for the Deluxe Interior. I assume you are talking about the cranks, not the shaft they go on. Thanks everyone for your comments. Rob
