I am installing a new EB 750 and also purchased the electric choke kit for it. I have never used an EB carb without the electric choke, so want to hear from folks that use EB carbs without the electric choke.
Pros and Cons?

The 1st thing that crossed my mind when I considered converting to an electric choke was - where do I pick up the the switch 12 volts from? The only convenient line nearby is for the TH 400 electric kickdown and I needed that.
SO, because my E-Brock Performer manifold had a provision for a divorsed choke and my 1901 Q-jet replacement was already non-electric choke - I converted the small block Chevy divorced choke setup for the E-brock Performer to work with my carb.

I've run my Edelbrock Performer without any choke at all for about 5 years without any serious problems. It fires right up when cold but I do have to pump the throttle 5 or so times before I crank it. Once it starts it might try to die for the first 20 seconds. After that everything is fine. The car is a 4-speed and I drive it all winter, down to about 20 degrees F.
