Anybody running headers in their convertibles? How difficult is it to get the pipes over the x-brace (I imagine headers hang down lower than the pipes hooked to my manifolds).
Talked to someone at flowmaster about their kit for 67-69 f-bodies because the sight says they won't work with convertibles. The tech guy said they use 3/8" spacers to drop the brace down and the kits work.
Having to drop the x-brace down with spacers is pretty universal with any exhaust manufacturer that I've seen. Pypes, Flowmaster, Hooker, etc.
I think the only possiblility is a completely custom system from the headers back.
I would look at Doug's Headers though. Although pricey, everyone comments that they tuck up underneath the best.

I have ordered RARE long branch manifolds for that very reason. I plan to have a local muffler shop custom bend the pipes over the flex plate. I am hoping to get 2.5" pipes installed. It will be tight, but they say it can be done. All the PYPES/RARE kits require spacers on the convertible flex plate. I did not want to do that. The RARE manifolds should be here in a week or so. I will let everyone know if I was able to get 2.5" pipes installed.
I put long branch manifolds on my 67 vert 4 speed and got the 2 1/4" headpipes from Year One. They bolt right up to the manifold flanges and run up above the x-brace back to the mufflers. Part#'s H01LH and H01RH, $73/ea. I think that's the way to go if you can handle 2 1/4" vs 2 1/2" pipes.
