They do "fit". After '67, te side gears ("spider gears") were changed to a better material, as the early versions were known as "glass gears". If you're not pouring a whole bunch of extra power to them, the '65 parts should be fine. I would avoid the cone-type posi, though. The clutch-type is far tougher.
