I just saw HLN. Looks like the south is gettin' some of that fluffy white stuff that falls from the skies.

Supposed to be in the 80s this weekend in SoCal. That's the beauty out here, you can drive an hour and be knee deep in snow.

had 95F the other day (in Panama), now mid 30s last night here in Houston....hope it warms up some tomorrow!

What I don't get, is I looked up the weather, and we weren't supposed to get snow until 9pm. This was at 8am. Then they close the schools early, and guess when the snow comes? So why do we have to close the schools at 2pm for snow coming at 9pm?!

Shoot, if they did this up north the schools would be closed another 6 months out of the year.

Oh yeah... the airport shutdown, too. Let me clarify, we barely have a surface layer of snow!

I think teachers look for any excuse to get away from the kids....I think it's reciprocal mind you!

Out here, the school that my wife teaches at doesn't shut down unless the snow plows can't get through or until the temp drops to -25 C or a wind chill of -35C (rural school), and my wife still has to go in case somebody drops off their kids.

Kids these days have it easy; -40 was the standard when I was a kid.

yup, in Calgary we walked to school in that temp...I can't recall a shutdown ever!

It's all for the CHILDREN. AND we'll sue. Yep walked to school in -25 and up hill both ways. HEY there's a mouse in my beer.

Still have a light dusting of snow on the ground. Guess who had to get up early with the kids to go outside? Hope they finish breakfast soon, we probably have a half hour before it 33°F.

Watching some of the Daytona coverage on Speed, only 15 degrees cooler here than Daytona beech (30 here, 45 there). I'm sure if the sun comes out there will be people out wearing shorts. Lowest temp that we've ever done top-down cruising is 49 degrees. That was a convertible club run and our first stop was 20 miles down the road. Some how the heater just doesn't seem to work well at those temps.

We had an out-of-place nice day today before another winter storm hits tonight. 56 degrees out there this afternoon.

So I recaulked around a house window that starting to give us problems, test fitted my new temp exhaust system, put in some earplugs and fired up my Firebird for a while.

about the same here, put my rear antennas back on thanks to a part from Banshee, fired her up for a bit, quaffed a beer...
