Might just be a So Cal thing when I grew up. They were a bigger phenom than Van Halen (from Pasadena) on the LA music scene in 1980. I will NEVER forget when the song hit the radio stations. GREAT song for blastin' in our muscle cars back then.

I remember that song being played on our high school jukebox A LOT!
I remember one day it was playing and a group of stoners came through the cafeteria from the smoking section outside, marched to the jukebox and pushed it so it skipped to the next song. I think it was a guy from the football team who was the one who put it on, so he got as many quarters as he had on him, collected more from his buddies and pumped every last quarter into the jukebox and played it over and over again, waiting to see if the stoners were brave enough to try it again!

That entire debut album by The Knack is a classic. They were a combination of hard rock, a little punk, and lots of melody, reminiscent of The Beatles and Buddy Holly. They could never follow up their debut LP with anything, and they quickly faded.
I still have that LP, and I remember 1980 like it was yesterday.
Gulp!
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I was at their big concert at the LA Forum in March 1980 right after they finished their World Tour. I still have my t-shirt from that concert.
Yep, they faded out quick. Beside the 1st album, their greatest hits CD, Retrospect, is also great.
