Hi
Just bought a set of 78 firebird 8 inch rally wheels. I want to use them on my 67 vert. Anybody used these before? I would also like a recommendation on a good tire size. Not oversized but a nice look. Possibly I will go with redlines. Thanks

Measure the rim width from inside the sealing lip across to the inside of the other side. I don't think they made a stock rim 8" wide. 8"ers only aftermarket.

Thank you....I stand corrected. They are 8" overall but 7" inner bead to inner bead.

Well I've got 235/60/14s on 7" rims because it was the widest tire I could get. I've had 245/50/14s squeezed on them before but they were really too wide. You may have more luck finding wider for 15s but these days I doubt it. 14s and 15s seem to be out dated items these days and are getting harder to come by all the time.

14s are getting hard to get in many sizes...I had to go from 245s to 235s ans switch brand... BFG still has 235 x 14s ...

dont know about for 8" rims though

Had 275-60's on the rear without a prob.
245's the largest i've had on front(long time ago). Think they rubbed on hard turns.
Have a set of Nitto's on 15x7's for rear too. Have to check size.
