well as you know i am terry's widow. i thought i would let ya all know that i will be conducting business but only with this forum. because i am lost when it comees to parts.. i know alot of you will help me along the way and i appreciate it
Christina, I am glad you're going to stay with the community. There's always someone on hand who can help you out with identifying, valuing, etc. The classifieds here can also help you with approximate pricing on common parts.

Funny but when I asked Terry how much he wanted for a part he usually said just pay me what you think it's worth. That was a problem for me, One...because I'm real cheap, and Two...because he was my best resource to figure out what something was worth.
I'm sure we'll do the best we can to help out, Christina.
i read the post on selling his inventory and needless to say i was not happy to read it.. but i did take alot of his parts with me that were marked.. i will be doing inventory later this week and will compile a list of what he has.. at that point i would love to have some input on how much to sell them for..your help is greatly apprciated.. and I got back to michigan yesterday
were you able to take care of the storage on the vehicles? if not and you know the specifics we may be able to help out with that. possibly to get the cash together so you can free up the cars worth salvaging!

I don't know of any state where a car can legally be scrapped without being in possession of a bill of sale or title. And it takes a long time for storage places to get throught the legal steps to sell or otherwise dispose of abandoned property. Something doesn't jive.

I second that. In most if not all states, a title has to be in hand or a reputable yard can't touch it. This makes it difficult for criminals to dispose of a stolen vehicle that's been stripped of parts (of course, where there's a will, there's a way). If you have the energy, get a lawyer to look into it.
a storage lot cannot legally dispose of property without first making a good faith effort to contact the owner of said property. the owner of the storage lot must make a court appointed attempt every 6 months for 3 years. after 3 years if no contact is made through the courts a state will issue a title for said property or a legal order of disposal. otherwise the property cannot be disposed of!!
know this because of a prior storage owner told me the clause if i ever defaulted on a storage unit of his! of course there are auction procedings but that is a different realm. those dont involve cars!!
me things someone is pullin your d!@#!! have someone local visit the yard with the guise of renting a storage space and have them instead check to c if the cars are there!! i bet 99% they are all present and accounted for!!

Bjorn, I had a friend .....................snip.......... drive by Terry's place. He drove by over the weekend and said that there was a ton of trash and car parts on the front lawn, people going through it etc. He said the house looked as though it was wide open and people (mostly kids) milling through the place etc. He stopped and asked a kid what was going on and he told my friend that "an old guy who sold old cars lived there and recently passed away and that his wife told them to take whatever they wanted". Now I don't know how much of this is true etc. other than what my friend told me. I have no reason to doubt him as I did not tell him anything about the situation, just that a friend had lived there and passed away and I was wondering what was going on at the property. Living so close, he drove there and called me from Terry's place when he got there etc. So who knows, sounds like a mess to me...
Sounds like the local police needs to get involved...Tom G, any way to have them check it out?
yes bjorn a very good friend and neighbor of terry and i is the person i am talking about..... this is a reliable person. i will speak to him later on today.....
yes jeff a neighbor found a very good person for zues he said when zues seen the man it was like he saw terry all over agian!. that person who is terrys widow said she was taking him to the pound karen colet and jeff all 3 told lynn that jody was coming to get him(as i was with him and terry for many years) lynn said over my dead body jody will get the (censored) dog
Looks like Terry latest wife has moved on (to Mich.), and so should we as a group move on. Getting involved at this stage with two wives is not going to turn out well. Terry should have had a will and if he did not it will probalby go to his current wife and she can do as she wishes. I would just let it be.
Unfortunately, the guy who bought my Bird (front clip & shell) had just purchased parts from Terry the week before he passed. I contacted Christina and she told me his parts were all shipped that same week. To this day he has not received them and I'm guessing he will not end up getting them. It's sad to think that Terry's good name as well as his business had to end the way it did...
yes lynn and christin are the same person... i am his ex girlfriend.. not ex wife. i have since been re married and moved to conneticut. i have asked nothing from you all nor will i . i am only helping let a few lil known facts be known. and have done so. there was a will yes. i am trying to help terrys sisters get things situated not asking for anything when he passed i asked for nothing as nothing blonged to me. i am not trying to argue or case one to take sides. i am only letting you all know what the sisters have asked me to let you all know.. and that is do not purchase any thing from the wife of terry do not trust her and dont send her anything. i am trying ot get a hold of the person who has the lot as i know for sure the cars are still there they have NOT been took to the crusher. i will have info about that later.... i as well will let you all know then.
Thanks for the clarification Jody. I beleive I may have met you a few years back when I stopped to pick up some parts from Terry at his house. Best of luck with this mess and condolences to you as well...
