Does anybody know if a 67 Camaro instrument cluster will interchange with a 68 Firebird instrument cluster? Both of the clusters are non-rally. I know the Camaro speedometer only reads to 120 mph, but will the wiring be the same? The two circuit boards seem functionally identical, but I have no way of knowing if the gauges operate on different voltages, etc. The reason for all this is because my Firebird fuel gauge was fried by the previous owner. I fixed the harness problem that caused it, but the gauge is still useless. Replacing the gauge alone is more expensive than the entire Camaro cluster. I am also thinking it might be possible to cannibalize the Camaro gauge and put the Firebird face on it, so that everything will look and work correctly, while keeping the correct speedometer. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks for that link. It was embarrassing to not realize beforehand that 67 Pontiac/Chevy gauges are the same. This next question probably belongs in the for-sale thread, but does $100 sound reasonable for a working and complete 67 cluster and housing with no cracks?
